Spring Produce Guide September 2016
Spring is finally here and as we all grow accustomed to warmer weather, our diets can take a lighter approach with some of the produce that’s now available again and fresh in season. In this post, we share a Spring Produce Guide September 2016 and some ideas to really make the most of this month’s selection.
Fruit
When we think of Spring, we think of new beginnings and refreshing fruit! This month, we welcome back Papayas and Pawpaws. While they may look the same on the outside and are from the same family of fruit, they are two separate fruits. Papayas, being the sweeter of the two, have a more orange, dark flesh than Pawpaws, which have a more yellow flesh. Both fruits are great on their own, fresh and are extra delicious when a bit of Calamansi/Lemon/Lime is squeezed on top, complementing the fruit’s sweetness.
