Winter Produce Guide for July 2016
It’s getting a bit chilly here in Queensland, and as we find ourselves in the middle of winter we are reminded how lucky to be have some delicious produce right on our doorsteps. Even better yet, fresh and at its best, during the month of July. In this post, we share our Winter Produce Guide for July.
Fruit
Along with other winter season fruits like Apples, this month we have have the Tangelo fruit to look forward to being back on grocery shelves. This tangy hybrid of Tangerine and Grapefruit makes a deliciously unique marmalade or curd.

Vegetables
Okra makes it’s seasonal bow – not only is it good for you (thanks to its edible green seed pods) but it’s delicious too. Have it simple and crunchy (keeping the gooey goodness inside with a few minutes in the micro) or slice thinly and cook slowly so the gooey-ness dissolves into a curry or stew.
